The Ruby Red Dragonet (Synchiropus sycorax) is a dazzling nano reef gem. With its brilliant red body, iridescent spots, and flowing fins, this fish brings elegance and color to peaceful reef aquariums.
Despite its small size and peaceful nature, the Ruby Red Dragonet is a micro-predator that requires access to live foods such as copepods and amphipods. A well-established tank with a mature pod population is ideal. Some individuals may accept frozen foods or be trained onto prepared diets, especially captive-bred specimens.
This dragonet is reef-safe, won’t harm corals or invertebrates, and is best kept with non-aggressive tank mates. It prefers tanks with plenty of live rock, sandy substrate, and low competition for food.
