📋 The Maculosus Angelfish (Pomacanthus maculosus)—often called the Yellowbar Angelfish—is a regal, long-bodied species featuring a deep blue body, a bright golden vertical bar, and a fine pattern of iridescent markings. Juveniles exhibit circular blue-and-white rings that gradually evolve into the adult’s signature contrast of blue and gold.

Native to the Red Sea and Western Indian Ocean, this angelfish inhabits coral reefs and rocky slopes, feeding on sponges, algae, and tunicates. In aquariums, it commands attention as a centerpiece fish, exuding both strength and grace.

This species is hardy once acclimated, tolerating a range of marine environments if provided a sponge-rich diet, open swimming space, and stable water conditions.
