    Care tips:

    • Salinity: most brackish fish do well at a specific gravity of about 1.005-1.010; adult Scats, Monos, Colombian Sharks, and Green Spotted Puffers thrive as salinity rises with age

    • Setup: use marine salt mix, not aquarium tonic salt, and measure with a hydrometer or refractometer

    • Lids: archerfish, eels, and rope fish are excellent jumpers, so a tight-fitting lid is essential

    • Diet: live and frozen foods suit most species, and puffers need hard-shelled foods such as snails to keep their beaks healthy

    • Groups: Scats, Monos, and Archerfish are happiest in groups of six or more, while puffers and eels do best singly with care during netting or maintenance
