📋 The Red Devil Angelfish is a genuinely striking color strain, selectively bred for its deep orange-red hue and elongated, trailing fins. It's worth noting that despite the shared name, this is unrelated to the separate Red Devil Cichlid (Amphilophus species) — this is simply a color morph of the standard freshwater angelfish.
Like other domesticated Pterophyllum scalare strains, this is a genuinely hardy, captive-bred fish that adapts well to community and planted aquariums, retaining the classic triangular body shape and graceful swimming motion that has made this species a longstanding centerpiece in the freshwater hobby.
This species forms genuine monogamous breeding pairs, and will readily spawn on vertical surfaces like broad leaves or aquarium glass when conditions are right.
