🐟 24K Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp. L144)
Freshwater Peaceful Bottom-Dwelling Algae Grazer • Genuine Vivid Golden-Yellow Coloration • Compact, Manageable Size Compared to Common Plecos

📋 The 24K Bristlenose Pleco is our house name for a genuinely vivid golden-yellow strain of bristlenose pleco. Worth knowing upfront: the "L144" designation is genuinely one of the most contested in the pleco-numbering system — the true original L144 traced to a single golden-mutation fish from a 1990s Paraguay shipment, and that specific line has since died out. What's widely sold today under this name, including this fish, is a different lineage carrying a similar genuine golden coloration.
Like all bristlenose plecos, this is a genuinely hardy, peaceful, and highly effective algae grazer, distinguished from common plecos by its considerably smaller adult size and the bristle-like appendages males develop on the snout.
This species is a genuine cave breeder, and males will guard the eggs and fry once spawning occurs — a well-documented, frequently observed behavior even in home aquariums.
