📋 The Resplendent Anthias , also known as the Tierra Anthias or Resplendent Goldie, has a genuinely vivid orange-pink body with a purple hue. Females show a yellow nose, dorsal fin, and tail, while males develop deeper, more intense colouration with a nearly transparent caudal fin, pink-edged pectoral and anal fins, and genuinely striking iridescent blue pelvic fins edged in red.
Native to the Indian Ocean, including Mauritius, the Chagos Archipelago, and the Maldives, this species is genuinely collected from deep fore-reef drop-offs, often below 33 metres and sometimes deeper, where it aggregates around arches, cave mouths, and large overhangs — frequently mixing with Cooper's Anthias and Lyretail Anthias in the wild.
Given its genuine deep-water origin, this species does best under subdued lighting with heavily shaded rockwork, and cooler, gentler-to-moderate water flow is genuinely preferred over strong currents. It's fully reef safe and does best kept as a mated pair, a small group of females, or a proper harem — but we want to be honest that if the tank is too small for the group, subordinate individuals can genuinely be targeted and killed by the dominant male, so adequate space genuinely matters.
