Algae & Pest Snail Control • Brackish-to-Marine Predator • Intelligent Oddball Fish

📋 The Green Spotted Pufferfish (Dichotomyctere nigroviridis) is a vibrant oddball fish with a bright green back covered in dark spots, contrasting with a white belly. Highly intelligent and interactive, puffers are known to recognize their owners and show unique personalities.

This species begins life in low-end brackish water, but as it matures, it must be transitioned to full marine conditions for long-term survival. Puffers are equipped with powerful beaks, which they use to crush snails, crabs, and shellfish. Regular feedings of hard-shelled foods are essential to prevent their teeth from overgrowing.

Though aggressive toward small tankmates, Green Spotted Puffers make stunning centerpiece fish in dedicated brackish or marine aquariums.
