📋 Alternanthera Red brings bold red-to-burgundy colour to any planted layout. Its broad, decorative leaves and compact, upright stems make a striking focal point against green plants, and it's a natural fit for Dutch-style aquascapes, nature layouts and colourful display tanks. Plant it in groups in the midground or background, and regular trimming keeps it dense and bushy.
Ours is grown emersed (above water), with tissue-culture cups also available, so you get clean, healthy plants ready to go. Semi-aquatic by nature, it's superb in paludariums and ripariums, where its stems can grow up and out of the water, and it gives submerged layouts an instant splash of red. Replanting healthy tops from time to time keeps it looking its best underwater.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
