📋 Echinodorus Red Diamond is a sword plant that lives up to its name. Its broad, oval leaves glow in deep ruby-red tones, and it grows as a full, elegant rosette from a central crown, so a single plant makes a striking red centrepiece. Set against green stem plants and carpets, its colour really shines, making it a standout in the midground or background of nature layouts, Dutch-style aquascapes and planted community tanks.
It's a hardy, easy-going sword. Plant it in a nutrient-rich substrate, add root tabs, and it grows steadily into a full, bushy specimen with only the odd old leaf to trim away. Good lighting brings out its richest ruby-red, especially on the fresh new leaves.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums.
