📋 The Masked Swallowtail Angelfish (Genicanthus semifasciatus) is a graceful, sexually dimorphic species displaying a unique division between males and females.
Males show a vibrant golden body with fine horizontal blue-grey stripes, accented by a black “mask” around the eye and a long, forked swallowtail caudal fin.
Females are silver-white with a faint golden sheen and a delicate swallowtail outline.Native to the open reefs of Japan and Taiwan, this species is a true reef-safe angelfish, feeding entirely on zooplankton and never nipping corals. It swims actively in mid-water shoals and thrives in mature systems with excellent flow and oxygenation.
