Care tips

  • Tank size: 570 L (150+ gallons) minimum, given adult sizes up to 45-50cm

  • Temp: 24–27 °C

  • Salinity: 1.020–1.025

  • Diet: Carnivore/Omnivore — shrimp flesh, seaweed, algae, small krill

  • The Pinnatus Batfish genuinely requires a calm, dim, low-competition setup to feed reliably

  • Behavior: Not reef safe — will consume small fish and invertebrates; juveniles solitary and shy, adults may school loosely; genuinely susceptible to ich and velvet, so thorough quarantine is essential
