🌿 Japanese Pennywort (Hydrocotyle tripartita)
Tiny Three-Lobed, Clover-Like Leaves • Fast-Creeping Carpet Plant • Lush Green Cover for Foreground and Hardscape
📋 Japanese Pennywort is a charming, fast-growing creeping plant with tiny, bright-green leaves split into three rounded lobes, giving it a delicate, clover-like look. Its fine runners spread quickly across the substrate and over stones and wood, knitting together into a soft, lush green carpet. It's a favourite for the foreground of nature aquascapes, Iwagumi layouts and nano tanks, and it looks beautiful cascading over hardscape.
It's adaptable and quick to establish. Moderate to strong light keeps it low and dense, and regular trimming encourages an even thicker carpet. A natural marsh plant, it also grows superbly above the water in paludariums.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
