Marine Sharks & Rays
For Marine Aquariums

Sharks and rays are the dream centrepieces of the marine hobby, and a few small, hardy species make them possible at home. They're also long-term commitments that need purpose-built systems. At #Fisheee Aquarium Store Phuket Thailand, our shark and ray listings are honest about size, lifespan, feeding, and tank needs, so you can plan a system built for them.

Our Sharks & Rays Collection:

The Epaulette Shark is the classic walking shark, with its white-ringed shoulder spot, growing to about 107cm and living 20 years or more. The Speckled Carpet Shark is a leopard-patterned relative that reaches about 79cm and is available both wild-collected and aquacultured. The Bluespotted Ribbontail Ray is a small stingray with electric-blue spots, growing to about 35cm across, and the most demanding of the three. All are expert-level species for dedicated large tanks. #FishShopPhuketThailand

Care tips:

  • Tank size: about 760L for a Speckled Carpet Shark, about 1,135L for a full-grown Epaulette Shark, and at least 700L (many keepers use about 1,000L) for a Ribbontail Ray, with floor space mattering more than depth

  • Substrate: use fine sand, since coarse material can scratch and infect the belly of sharks and rays

  • Medication: never expose sharks to copper-based medications

  • Feeding: a new ray settles best in a quiet, stable tank with fresh seafood, and our team will guide you through the first weeks

  • Venom and handling: the ray's tail carries venomous barbs, so keep an emergency plan in place and never touch near the tail

  • Tankmates: none of these species is reef safe, since they eat small invertebrates and fish
