🐟 OB Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara sp. hybrid)

Colorful Display Fish • Active African Cichlid • Selective Hybrid Morph

📋 The OB Peacock Cichlid is one of the most visually striking aquarium-bred African cichlids, featuring bright mottled colors of orange, blue, and black blotches. This “OB” pattern (Orange Blotch) comes from selective crossbreeding of Aulonocara with Mbuna cichlids, creating a unique hybrid strain.

While not a natural Lake Malawi species, OB Peacocks are prized for their unpredictable and varied patterns, making each fish unique. Like other Peacock Cichlids, they are active, semi-aggressive, but less combative than Mbuna, making them excellent centerpiece fish for large Malawi community tanks.

Their territorial behavior requires sufficient space and rockwork. With proper care, they thrive in alkaline, hard water environments and reward aquarists with spectacular color variety and lively behavior.

Hybrid Peacock strain – aquarium-bred only
📏 Medium size (12 – 15 cm) – requires 50+ gallon tanks
