Polka Dot Lyretail Pleco (Acanthicus adonis, L155)
Polka Dots • Lyretail • Giant Pleco

📋 The Polka Dot Lyretail Pleco (Acanthicus adonis, L155) is one of the most striking and largest L-number plecos in the hobby. Juveniles display a black body covered in bold white polka dots, while adults darken, losing most spots and developing an impressive lyre-shaped tail and spiny armored body.

Growing up to 2–3 feet in length, the Adonis Pleco requires huge aquariums with powerful filtration, driftwood, and open swimming space. It is semi-aggressive as it matures and unsuitable for small community tanks, but makes a true centerpiece fish in large show aquariums.
