📋 The Blushing Angelfish is genuinely named for its transparent gill covers — a reduced-pigmentation trait that allows the natural red of the gills beneath to show through, giving the fish a soft "blushing" appearance. The body itself runs pale silver to white, paired with delicate, elegant fins.
Like other domesticated Pterophyllum scalare strains, this is a genuinely hardy, captive-bred fish that adapts well to community and planted aquariums, offering a more subtle, understated look compared to bolder color strains.
This species forms genuine monogamous breeding pairs, and will readily spawn on vertical surfaces like broad leaves or aquarium glass when conditions are right.
