📋 The Tiger Pleco (Peckoltia sp., L002) is a medium-sized pleco named for its bold black and golden-orange vertical stripes, which resemble a tiger’s pattern. These stripes run across its entire body and fins, giving it one of the most striking patterns in the Peckoltia genus.
Reaching 12–13 cm (4.5–5"), it remains a manageable size for most aquariums. The Tiger Pleco is generally peaceful but can become slightly territorial with its own kind, especially males. Providing caves, driftwood, and shaded hiding areas helps reduce aggression.
An omnivore, it grazes on algae but also accepts prepared sinking foods, vegetables, and occasional protein sources. With its vivid striping and ease of care, the Tiger Pleco is a collector’s favorite that adds bold contrast to planted and community tanks.
