🐾 Wolverine Pleco (Pseudacanthicus sp., L017)
Striped • Giant Pleco • Carnivore
📋 The Wolverine Pleco (Pseudacanthicus sp., L017) is a large and powerful pleco named for its bold, claw-like markings that resemble the slash of Wolverine. Its body is dark brown to black, overlaid with irregular golden to tan bands that create a striking, predatory look.
Reaching 35–40 cm (14–16"), this species is a true giant pleco that requires a very large aquarium. Unlike most plecos, it is a carnivore, thriving on a diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, mussels, and sinking carnivore pellets.
While impressive, the Wolverine Pleco is semi-aggressive and highly territorial with other plecos, especially large-bodied species. Best kept either singly or with robust tank mates, it is a specialist’s pleco prized by collectors for its unique markings, size, and personality.
