🌿 Dwarf Hygrophila (Hygrophila polysperma)
Small, Bright-Green Lance-Shaped Leaves • Very Fast-Growing and Hardy • An Easy, Lush Background Filler
📋 Dwarf Hygrophila is one of the easiest and fastest-growing stem plants you can buy. Its small, lance-shaped, bright-green leaves grow densely along upright stems, quickly filling the midground or background with lush, natural greenery. Under stronger light the top leaves can take on soft pinkish-bronze tints. As it grows, it soaks up excess nutrients, helping keep algae in check, and its dense growth gives fish, fry and shrimp plenty of cover.
It's extremely hardy and forgiving, growing in low to high light without CO2 and adapting to a wide range of water conditions. Regular trimming keeps it bushy and in shape, and a natural marsh plant, it also grows superbly above the water in paludariums. Looking for colour? Try its variegated cousin, Hygrophila Rosanervig.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
