🌿 Dwarf Water Clover (Marsilea crenata)
Tiny Clover-Like Leaves • Low, Easy Carpet Plant • Lush Green Cover for the Foreground
📋 Dwarf Water Clover is an easy, low-growing aquatic fern native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand. Underwater, it forms tiny, rounded leaves that stay just a few centimetres tall, creeping across the substrate on fine runners to build a soft, natural green carpet. Grown above the water, it shows its charming four-leaf-clover shape, making it a delightful plant for paludariums too. It's perfect for the foreground of nature aquascapes, Iwagumi layouts and nano tanks.
It's one of the easiest carpet plants you can grow. It needs no CO2, grows in low to moderate light, and stays naturally low, so it needs very little trimming. Plant it in small portions, give it time to settle in, and it spreads steadily into a lush, even lawn.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
