🦐 Amano Shrimp Caridina multidentata
Algae Eating • Planted Tank Essential • Peaceful

📋 The Amano Shrimp is one of the most popular freshwater shrimp in the aquarium hobby, prized for its outstanding algae-eating abilities. Introduced to the hobby by the famous aquascaper Takashi Amano, these shrimp are essential in many planted aquariums for natural algae control.

They are hardy, peaceful, and highly effective cleaners, but unlike Neocaridina shrimp, they cannot be bred easily in captivity, as their larvae require brackish water to develop. Amano Shrimp thrive best in planted community aquariums with stable conditions and plenty of biofilm to graze on.
