📋 Cardinal Flower is a striking stem plant with bright-green, rounded leaves held on strong, upright stems. Its clean, architectural shape contrasts beautifully with fine-leaved and red plants, making it an elegant feature from the midground to the background, while smaller plants also work well in the foreground. It's a natural fit for Dutch-style aquascapes, nature layouts and planted community tanks.
Originally a North American marsh plant, it's wonderfully versatile and grows just as happily in paludariums as it does underwater. Ours is grown emersed (above water), so plant it in a nutrient-rich substrate and give it moderate to strong light; as it adjusts to life underwater, fresh submerged leaves take over and it settles into compact, lush growth.
It's a freshwater plant, suited to freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
