🐟 Black Shark (Labeo chrysophekadion)
A Velvety Jet-Black Body • A Big, Bold River Giant From Thailand • A Commanding Centrepiece for the Large Tank
📋 The Black Shark, also known as the Black Labeo or Black Sharkminnow, carries a deep, velvety jet-black body with a tall, sail-like dorsal fin and a broad, forked tail. It's a powerful, commanding fish that becomes the undisputed centrepiece of a large aquarium.
It comes from the great rivers of Southeast Asia, including the Mekong and Chao Phraya of Thailand. Every Black Shark we ship is feeding well.
This is a bold, confident fish that patrols the lower levels of the tank, grazing algae and biofilm from rocks and driftwood with its soft, sucker-like lips. It claims its own territory as it grows, so it's best kept as a single shark with large, robust tankmates. It grows up to 60cm, so a 1,000L tank suits it well.
