📋 The Bala Shark, also known as the Silver Shark or Tricolor Shark, carries a gleaming, mirror-silver body with yellow-tinted fins edged in bold black. With its large eyes, tall dorsal fin and deeply forked tail, it's the classic freshwater shark and one of the most striking fish for a large aquarium.
It comes from the rivers and lakes of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. Every Bala Shark we ship is feeding well.
This is a peaceful, active shoaling fish that cruises every level of the tank, and it looks its best in a group of five or more. It's a fast, athletic swimmer that loves open space, and a powerful jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is a must. It's plant-safe and grows up to 35cm, so a 400L tank suits it well.
