📋 The Red Tail Black Shark, also known as the Red-Tailed Shark, carries a sleek, velvet-black body finished with a blazing, fire-engine red tail. That simple, striking contrast has made it one of the most iconic freshwater fish in the hobby, and its tall dorsal fin gives it the look of a miniature shark.
It comes from the Chao Phraya river basin of Thailand. Every Red Tail Black Shark we ship is feeding well.
This is a bold, characterful fish that patrols the lower levels of the tank, grazing algae from rocks and driftwood and showing off its brilliant colours. It claims its own patch of the tank, so it's best kept as a single shark with lively mid-to-upper level tankmates. It's plant-safe and grows up to 15cm, so a 200L tank suits it well.
