🦐 Blue Green Neocaridina Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi var. Blue Green)

Freshwater Dwarf Shrimp • Peaceful Community Invertebrate • Prolific Breeder • Beginner Friendly Aquarium Shrimp

📋 Description

The Blue Green Neocaridina Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) is a selectively bred colour strain of the popular Cherry Shrimp, prized for a striking teal-to-blue-green iridescent body that shifts tone with lighting angle.

Native to freshwater streams across China and Taiwan, all Neocaridina davidi colour strains — including this one — share identical care requirements regardless of their striking colour differences, since decades of selective breeding have shaped colour without changing the species' underlying hardiness.

Naturally peaceful, active, and easy to keep, Blue Green Neocaridina Shrimp spend their time grazing biofilm and algae from plants, rock, and glass, making them a genuinely useful addition to a planted community tank as well as an attractive one. Given stable water conditions, they breed readily and often, making this a rewarding species to watch establish a thriving colony over time.

With stable water parameters and a mature, planted aquarium, they thrive as a Vivid Colour Community Cleanup Invertebrate.
