🐠 Diana's Hogfish (Bodianus diana)
Marine Hogfish • Reef Predator • Cleaner (Juvenile Phase) • Display Species

📋 The Diana’s Hogfish (Bodianus diana) is one of the most striking members of the hogfish family, displaying an intense red body, white facial mask, and iridescent scale highlights. Juveniles have white spots along the dorsal area and function as cleaner fish, removing parasites from larger tankmates. As they mature, their pattern becomes deeper and more vivid, with males developing greater contrast and size.

Native to the Indian Ocean’s coral reefs, this species is both hardy and active, spending much of its day searching for invertebrates within rock crevices. While not entirely reef-safe due to its diet, it can coexist peacefully in FOWLR setups or with larger, non-crustacean tankmates.

The Diana’s Hogfish is a showy, intelligent addition — admired for its bold coloration, natural pest control, and personality.
