📋 The Spotted Mandarin Dragonet (Synchiropus picturatus) is among the most recognizable marine fish thanks to its psychedelic swirl pattern of emerald green, blue, orange, and black spots. Unlike many dragonets, this species can adapt more readily to prepared foods, especially when captive bred.
Native to shallow reef flats of the Western Pacific, the Spotted Mandarin prefers mature aquariums with abundant live rock and natural pod populations. It’s completely peaceful, reef-safe, and pairs beautifully with Blue and Red Mandarins in larger aquariums.
