🐟 Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara sp.)
Fiery Red-Orange Show Cichlid • Peaceful for a Malawi • Brilliant Centerpiece
📋 The Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlid is a fiery showpiece, with an intense red-to-orange body that grows even brighter as males mature, while females stay softer in tone. It's a line-bred peacock hybrid strain developed from Lake Malawi peacock lineages, selected for dramatic colour and the calmer, display-focused temperament peacocks are known for.
Peacocks are among the friendliest of the Malawi cichlids, and they show their best colours in a spacious, rock-filled tank with hard, alkaline water and a darker substrate. They mix well with other peacocks, midwater Haplochromis, and easy-going Mbuna such as Yellow Labs, and a harem of one male to several females keeps the peace and the colour high.
