🐟 OB Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara sp.)
Calico-Patterned Show Cichlid • Every Fish Unique • Peaceful for a Malawi
📋 The OB Peacock Cichlid is a living work of art. "OB" stands for Orange Blotch, a calico-style mosaic of orange, blue, and black patches scattered across the body, and because the pattern is random, no two fish are alike. It's a line-bred peacock hybrid strain, carrying the orange-blotch gene found in Lake Malawi Mbuna, selected for the peacock's calmer, display-focused temperament.
Peacocks are among the friendliest of the Malawi cichlids, and they show their best colours in a spacious, rock-filled tank with hard, alkaline water and a darker substrate. They mix well with other peacocks, midwater Haplochromis, and easy-going Mbuna such as Yellow Labs, and a harem of one male to several females keeps the peace and the colour high.
