📋 We want to be genuinely upfront about identification: the Falcula Butterflyfish, also known as the Blackwedged or Sickle Butterflyfish, is genuinely commonly confused with, and sometimes sold as, the closely related Double-Saddle Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ulietensis). Both share a similar white-and-black saddle pattern, so please ask our team to confirm identification if you're unsure which species you're purchasing.
 
📋 The Falcula Butterflyfish has a genuinely striking body — mostly white, turning yellow toward the dorsal side, marked with narrow black stripes, two bold black saddle patches, and a black eye band.
Native to the Indian Ocean, this species is genuinely a nocturnal butterflyfish, most active after dark, and can sometimes be challenging to acclimate at first — subdued lighting during the initial settling-in period genuinely helps.
We want to be upfront: this species is not reef safe, and will genuinely eat anemones, hard corals, and mushroom anemones, making it more of a coral risk than some visually similar butterflyfish. It's genuinely peaceful toward most tank mates, though can be territorial toward its own kind, and does best kept solitary or as a genuine confirmed pair in a larger, well-oxygenated tank with strong water movement. We want to be honest that triggerfish are genuinely not a good tank mate choice for this species.
