The colouration on this variety is applied rather than genetic, distinct from our naturally pale White Skirt Tetra or our genetically fluorescent GloFish range. It comes from the same captive-bred lines as the standard White Skirt Tetra, with the original wild-type species native to the Paraguay River basin in South America. Every Cosmic Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a hardy, active schooling fish with identical care needs to the standard White Skirt Tetra, an easy, colourful choice for a beginner's community tank. It can show some fin-nipping tendencies in small groups, so a proper school of 6-10 or more keeps this behaviour spread out and the fish calmer overall. It reaches 5-6cm, so a 75L tank suits a school well.
