🐟 Bleeding Heart Tetra (Hyphessobrycon erythrostigma)
A Soft Rosy-Pink Body With a Striking Red Marking on the Chest • A Larger, Long-Finned Tetra With Real Centrepiece Presence • Hardy and Well Suited to Community Tanks
📋 The Bleeding Heart Tetra has a soft rosy-pink body with a distinctive, intense red splash on the chest, right behind the gill cover, the striking marking that gives the species its name.
It comes from the Amazon Basin in South America, naturally inhabiting slow-moving forest streams and tributaries. Every Bleeding Heart Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a larger, long-finned tetra, with real presence as a centrepiece schooling fish in a bigger community tank. It's a hardy, easygoing species, well suited to a wide range of peaceful community tankmates, and does best kept in a group of 6 or more. It reaches up to 6cm, so a 115L tank suits a school well.
