🐟 Starfire Red GloFish Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi (GloFish genetically modified variety))

A Vivid, Fiery-Red Fluorescent Body • A Permanent, Inherited Glow, Not Dye or Paint • Glows Brightly Under Blue or Actinic Lighting

📋 The Starfire Red GloFish Tetra has a vivid, fiery-red fluorescent body, a bold, eye-catching colour bred from the classic Black Skirt Tetra.

This vivid colouration comes from a stable, inherited fluorescent protein gene, a real, permanent genetic trait passed down through the GloFish breeding line, not a dye, paint, or injection. The colour is genetic and lifelong, never fading or washing out, and glows especially brightly under blue or actinic aquarium lighting.

It comes from the same captive-bred lines as the standard Black Skirt Tetra, originally native to the Paraguay River basin in South America. Every Starfire Red GloFish Tetra we ship is feeding well.

This is a hardy, beginner-friendly species that can show some fin-nipping tendencies in very small groups, so a proper school of 6-10 or more keeps this behaviour spread out. Its fiery-red colouration stands out beautifully against dark substrate and glows especially brightly under blue or actinic lighting. It reaches 5-6cm, so a 75L tank suits a school well.
