📋 The Flagfin Angelfish, also called the Three-Spot Angelfish, is a striking fish, with a bright yellow body, vivid blue lips, and a dark blue-black spot on the forehead giving the species its alternate name.
It comes from reef slopes, rocky drop-offs, and lagoons across a wide range of the Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to Samoa, typically found solitary or in mated pairs, with juveniles staying deeper among rocky crevices than adults. Every Flagfin Angelfish we ship is feeding well, settled onto a sponge-based angelfish diet and confirmed eating before it leaves us.
It's naturally shy, especially when newly introduced, so a mature tank with plenty of live rock and a calm introduction help it settle in confidently. It's not reef safe, and will nip at sponges, tunicates, sessile invertebrates, and both soft and stony corals, making it best suited to a spacious fish-only or FOWLR aquarium. It reaches up to 25cm, so plan on at least 380L.
