📋 The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish, also known as the Goldstriped or Orange-Lined Cardinalfish, has a genuinely metallic silvery-blue body marked with six bright orange-to-yellow horizontal stripes, complemented by large, prominent eyes suited to its nocturnal lifestyle.

Native to a genuinely vast range across the Indo-Pacific, from the Persian Gulf and Red Sea to Mozambique, Fiji, and the Ryukyu Islands, this species inhabits sheltered lagoon and seaward reefs, genuinely found in aggregations under ledges, in holes, or even among the long spines of sea urchins.

We want to share a genuinely fascinating fact: this species is a real documented paternal mouthbrooder, with the male genuinely picking up and carrying fertilized eggs in his mouth until they hatch. This is a genuinely peaceful, hardy schooling species best kept in small groups introduced simultaneously, and it's genuinely active mainly at night, feeding on plankton and small invertebrates. It's considered reef safe with caution — this species genuinely won't harm corals, but may occasionally eat very small ornamental shrimp given its genuinely large mouth and appetite.
