📋 The Longfin Bannerfish, also known as the Pennant Coralfish, Reef Bannerfish, or Coachman, has a genuinely elegant white body marked with two bold black vertical bands, yellow accents on the pectoral, caudal, and dorsal fins, and a long, trailing, pennant-like dorsal fin filament that gives the species its name.
Native to a genuinely vast range across the Indo-Pacific, from East Africa and the Persian Gulf to the Society Islands, this species inhabits deep, protected lagoons and reef slopes, often below 15 metres.
Genuinely nicknamed the "Poor Man's Moorish Idol" for its close resemblance to the far more delicate and challenging true Moorish Idol, this species is considerably better suited to aquarium life while offering a similar striking look. A genuinely charming natural behaviour: juveniles are documented cleaning parasites off other fish. This species is genuinely hardy and adapts well once settled, and can be kept in small groups or pairs if all individuals are introduced simultaneously. We want to be honest that this species is not reef safe, and will genuinely eat invertebrates and nip at corals if not well fed, so a varied, generous diet matters.
