As the largest member of the entire Heniochus genus, this species genuinely grows up to 30cm, and expert sources genuinely recommend a minimum aquarium size of 180 gallons or larger. This species also genuinely requires an extended acclimation period, with specialist sources recommending around 4 weeks, or until it's genuinely eating aggressively, before considering it settled.
📋 The Singular Bannerfish, also known as the Singularis Heniochus, has a genuinely dramatic black-and-white banded body with a bright canary-yellow dorsal area and tail, and a flowing white dorsal banner. Juveniles genuinely display an especially long dorsal filament, while mature adults develop a fuller body with a fine reticulated pattern.
Native to the Indo-West and Central Pacific, from the Andaman Islands to Samoa, north to southern Japan, and south to Australia and New Caledonia, this species inhabits coral-rich lagoon and seaward reefs with strong vertical structure.
We want to be honest that this species genuinely requires plenty of hiding spots and a calm environment to acclimate successfully, and won't settle well if harassed or if there's excessive activity around the tank. It's genuinely peaceful and can be kept in pairs or small groups if all specimens are introduced simultaneously. We want to be upfront: this species is not reef safe, and its natural diet genuinely includes coral polyps, along with tube worms and clam mantles if not kept well fed.
