🐠 Singular Bannerfish (Heniochus singularius)

📋 The Singular Bannerfish, also known as the Singularis Heniochus, has a dramatic black-and-white banded body with a bright canary-yellow dorsal area and tail, and a flowing white dorsal banner. Juveniles display an especially long dorsal filament, while mature adults develop a fuller body with a fine reticulated pattern.
It comes from the Indo-West and Central Pacific, from the Andaman Islands to Samoa, north to southern Japan, and south to Australia and New Caledonia, inhabiting coral-rich lagoon and seaward reefs with strong vertical structure. Every Singular Bannerfish we ship is feeding well.
As the largest member of the entire Heniochus genus, this species grows up to 30cm, and we recommend a minimum aquarium size of 470L, with 680L or more for a full adult. We give this species a patient settling-in period, allowing around four weeks in a calm, quiet environment before it's considered fully settled and eating with real confidence. It requires plenty of hiding spots and won't settle well if harassed or if there's excessive activity around the tank. It's peaceful and can be kept in pairs or small groups if all specimens are introduced simultaneously. This species is not reef safe, and its natural diet includes coral polyps, along with tube worms and clam mantles if not kept well fed.
