📋 We want to be genuinely upfront on this one: sources differ noticeably on this species' difficulty. Some specialist keepers rate it as expert-only, recommending a genuinely very large aquarium of 1000 litres or more, while other sources rate it as only moderately demanding. Given this genuine disagreement, we'd rather err on the side of caution and recommend this species only to more experienced reefkeepers with a spacious, well-established tank.
📋 The Phantom Bannerfish, also known as the Pennant Coralfish, Horned Bannerfish, or Threeband Pennantfish, has a genuinely elegant white body marked with black and yellow, a distinctive black dorsal blotch, a yellow area on the snout, and a long, trailing white dorsal filament.
Native to a genuinely wide range across the Indo-Pacific, this species inhabits reef environments with plenty of open swimming space.
This species is genuinely often confused with the closely related Longfin Bannerfish (Heniochus acuminatus), but can be distinguished by the shape of its black dorsal blotch and the yellow patch on its snout.
