📋 The Silver Arowana, often called the South American Dragonfish, is genuinely one of the most iconic freshwater species in the aquarium hobby, native to the Amazon, Rupununi, and Oyapock river basins. It glides near the surface with long, flowing fins and sleek, metallic silver scales.
This is a genuinely large, long-lived apex predator, reaching up to 90cm, requiring a very large aquarium, a secure tight-fitting lid given this species' well-documented jumping behavior, and a genuine long-term commitment spanning a decade or more.
Unlike the Asian Arowana varieties we carry, this species is genuinely not CITES-listed and carries no special import restrictions, making it a more accessible option for keepers seeking a majestic dragonfish. It's genuinely best kept singly, as conflict can arise between individuals.
