This species is genuinely considered by expert sources to be the most aggressive of all triggerfish, and even more aggressive than many other notoriously fierce animals, including other triggerfish, groupers, lionfish, or even sharks. It's genuinely recommended this species be kept entirely alone, since it will attack even much larger fish and invertebrates of all types, and is genuinely capable of biting hoses, electrical wiring, and even disfiguring glass or acrylic tank panels with its teeth. This species genuinely grows up to 30cm (12"), and expert sources genuinely recommend a minimum aquarium size of 180 gallons or more. 📋 The Undulate Triggerfish, also known as the Orangelined Triggerfish, Orangetailed Triggerfish, or Yellow-Tailed Triggerfish, has a genuinely striking iridescent emerald-green body covered in intricate wavy orange-to-yellow lines, with brilliant electric blue markings around the mouth and fins.
Native to the Indo-Pacific, this species genuinely inhabits rocky reefs and lagoons, and is the only species within its entire genus, Balistapus.
We want to share a genuinely fascinating fact: this species is remarkably intelligent, bold, and interactive, often recognizing its keeper and eagerly greeting them at feeding time, and it's genuinely capable of vocalising through an audible grunting sound, thought by some to be a form of communication. Despite its genuinely fierce reputation, it's an exceptionally hardy, disease-resistant species that adapts readily to aquarium life. We want to be upfront: this species is not reef safe, and will genuinely rearrange rockwork and excavate substrate to its liking.
