Betta splendens, the Siamese Fighting Fish, is one of the world's most recognized aquarium fish, and also one of the most misunderstood. Bettas have a labyrinth organ that lets them gulp air at the surface, which is genuinely why they can survive in a small bowl — but surviving isn't the same as thriving, and every betta here needs a genuinely heated, filtered tank of at least 19L (5 gallons) for long-term health. Our 20 varieties span fin shapes from the hardy, classic Veiltail through Halfmoon, Crowntail, and Plakat, to six color-shifting Koi and marble lines, plus a few extreme show varieties we're upfront about.

Our six Koi and marble varieties — Fancy, Galaxy, Candy, Tiger, Nemo, and Samurai — all carry a marble gene that keeps shifting the fish's colour throughout its life, so the pattern you buy won't be the pattern you keep.     Care tips:

    • ​Tank size: 19L (5 gallons) minimum — not a bowl or vase; larger is genuinely better

    • Temp: 24–28°C • pH: 6.5–7.5 — a heater is essential, not optional

    • Diet: High-protein betta pellets, bloodworms, daphnia, brine shrimp

    • Behavior: Genuinely territorial; males must never be housed together

    • Fin health: Longer-finned varieties need gentle flow and pristine water to avoid fin rot or self-biting
