📋 The Lined Bristletooth Tang, also known as the Orange Stripe Bristletooth Tang, Striated Surgeonfish, or Chevron Tang, undergoes a genuinely dramatic colour transformation — juveniles display several bold, pronounced orange stripes running the length of a blue-grey body, which genuinely fade away entirely as the fish matures into an olive-brown adult marked with fine blue lines and orange spots concentrated around the eyes.
Native to a genuinely wide range across the Pacific Ocean, and the only species in its genus found as far as the Red Sea, this species inhabits reef environments rich in algae growth.
This is a genuinely one of the most efficient algae grazers among the Bristletooth tangs, using its specialised bristle-like teeth to scrape organic material and film algae from rock and stone. We want to be honest that this species is genuinely documented as susceptible to HLLE (Head and Lateral Line Erosion) disease if not fed a sufficiently rich and varied diet, so a genuine algae-based diet supplemented with vitamins matters for long-term health.
