⚠️ Important Information — Please Read First

We want to be genuinely upfront on this one. This is a genuine natural colour variant of the standard Blue Tang, sourced from the Indian Ocean rather than the Pacific, and its namesake yellow belly genuinely does not appear until the fish matures, typically taking around two years to fully develop — small juveniles can genuinely look identical to a standard Blue Tang at first. This species genuinely grows up to 30cm (12"), and expert sources genuinely recommend a minimum aquarium size of 125-180 gallons or more, with a long, unobstructed footprint prioritising horizontal swimming distance.

📋 The Yellow Belly Blue Tang has a genuinely rich, deep-blue body with bold black "painter's palette" markings, and a brilliant yellow wash covering the lower body and belly, extending onto the tail, that grows more pronounced with maturity.

Native to the Indian Ocean, this species genuinely inhabits seaward reefs and lagoons, often forming loose groups above branching corals in the wild.

We want to be honest that, like all tangs, this species is genuinely quite susceptible to ich and other skin parasites, so a proper quarantine period is genuinely strongly recommended before introduction to a main display. It's genuinely one of the more peaceful tangs, though it will become aggressive toward other members of its own species, so multiple specimens should genuinely be introduced simultaneously to a sufficiently large tank. It's fully reef safe, and genuinely requires a balanced diet of marine-based seaweed and algae to strengthen its immune system, reduce aggression, and maintain its striking colouration.
