📋 The Adonis Tetra, also known as the Jellybean Tetra, is one of the smallest fish kept in the hobby, smaller even than the classic Neon Tetra, and the sole species in its entire genus.
It comes from a genuinely narrow natural range, small coastal streams in southern Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, and is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN due to pollution pressure on these waterways. Every Adonis Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a delicate specialist species, sensitive to water conditions and best suited to an experienced keeper rather than a typical first community fish. It does best in a stable, mature nano aquarium with soft, acidic water and gentle flow, alongside other very small, peaceful tankmates. It reaches up to 2.1cm, so a 20L nano tank suits it well.
