📋 The Cochu's Blue Tetra, also known as the Blue King Tetra, has a brilliant electric-blue lateral stripe set against a mostly translucent, silvery body, with the blue most concentrated toward the tail, one of relatively few freshwater fish with genuinely bright blue colouration.
It comes from the Amazon Basin, across rivers and streams in Colombia, Brazil, and Peru. Every Cochu's Blue Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a genuinely active, fast-moving species, more energetic than most tetras of similar size, and it benefits from a bit more swimming room than you might expect for its size, a confident, lively addition rather than a quiet background fish. It's peaceful with similarly active tankmates, though it can turn mildly nippy toward slow, long-finned fish if kept in a cramped tank or too small a group. It reaches 4-5cm, so a 75L tank with real open space suits a school well.
