📋 The Blue Lined Surgeonfish, also known as the Lined Surgeonfish, Clown Surgeonfish, Pyjama Tang, or Zebra Surgeonfish, has a dazzling body pattern of alternating black-edged yellow and blue horizontal stripes, among the most striking colour patterns of any tang.
It ranges widely across the Indo-Pacific, inhabiting shallow, wave-exposed reef flats and rocky substrates, where it's a confident, territorial grazer that defends patches of algae from other fish. Every Blue Lined Surgeonfish we ship is feeding well.
It's fully reef safe and an excellent algae grazer, and it's a bold, confident fish best suited to a spacious, well-established tank with an experienced keeper, best as the only tang in most home aquarium setups, added last. Its caudal spine is sharp and reported to carry mild venom, so handle it with care. It reaches up to 38cm, so plan on at least 680L.
