🐟 Lemon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis)
A Vivid Lemon-Yellow Body With Bold Black Fin Markings • Bright Red Eyes Against a Pale, Glowing Body • One of Around 150 Species in the Hyphessobrycon Genus
📋 The Lemon Tetra has a vivid lemon-yellow body, with bold black-and-yellow markings along the dorsal and anal fins and bright red eyes, a cheerful splash of colour in any community tank.
It comes from Brazil, specifically the Rio Tapajós basin, naturally schooling in huge numbers, sometimes thousands strong, in slow-moving, soft, humic-stained waters. Every Lemon Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a hardy, easygoing schooling species, genuinely easy to care for and a reliable choice for beginners. It shows its brightest yellow against dark substrate and planting, and does best in a proper school of 6-10 or more. It reaches 4-5cm, so a 75L tank suits a school well.
