📋 The Yellow Phantom Tetra, also known as the Golden Phantom Tetra, has a pale yellow-gold, semi-transparent body with a distinctive dark marking behind the gill plate, a subtle, understated colouration that glows softly under planted tank lighting.
It comes from French Guiana, specifically the Maroni and Oyapock river basins, where it's never exported live; every Yellow Phantom Tetra in the hobby is captive-bred. Every Yellow Phantom Tetra we ship is feeding well.
This is a calm, true schooling species, one of the more understated and peaceful phantom tetras available, bringing a gentle warmth to a planted community tank rather than bold colour. It shows its best translucent glow in soft, slightly acidic water. It reaches 3-4cm, so a 60L tank suits a school well.
