📋 The Brazilian Flameback Angelfish, also known as the Caribbean Flameback or Fireball Angelfish, is a vibrant dwarf angelfish with an intense orange-gold dorsal region fading into a deep royal-blue body, with a rectangular, squared-off profile that distinguishes it from its close relative, the African Flameback.
It comes from the Western Atlantic, from the Caribbean to Brazil, rarer and more sought-after than its African counterpart, collected far less frequently and commanding a meaningfully higher price as a result. Every Brazilian Flameback Angelfish we ship is feeding well.
It's reef safe with caution: many specimens leave stony and soft corals largely alone compared with some relatives, but individual behaviour varies, and caution remains warranted, particularly with clam mantles and polyp corals. Once settled in, this species can become quite territorial and confident, and in smaller tanks it can be a real bully toward other pygmy angelfish, so keep it as the only one of its kind unless the system is spacious. It reaches up to 7.6cm, so plan on at least 210L.
